Lourdes is on my bucket list, even as lapsed Catholic. The story from childhood fascinates me still. I used Lourdes water to anoint patients as a chaplain and saw the joy and peace it brought to them. Blessings to you, and hope to read about your Easter Sunday in this beautiful place that brings comfort and healing—in a world that so needs it.

This is beautiful Rebecca! I love that you are following your instincts, to such a mystical place, on a day with such meaning.

I visited Lourdes after my Camino del Norte in 2017. Why?

Lourdes was a place that I had heard of all my life.

And I am taking the opportunity to visit places that I have heard of and have been intrigued with but are not worth a whole vacation. You don't have to be Catholic or "believe" to see that Lourdes attract so many monks and nuns from all over the world. Even the town beyond the holy area is fascinating. Take some time to walk through the town.

I heard (and checked) that Lourdes has the second most number of beds in France after Paris.

After my Camino Frances the next year, I went to Gibraltar. What an intriguing place. Again worth several days beyond the town square.

Enjoy, Rebecca.

And if it’s not too much, a prayer to Jyoti, Debbie, Joyce and Annabel who are navigating tough challenges placed in their path. Have mercy on them to face their challenges with grace. Thank you from deep in my heart.

I loved my 18 hours of Lourdes last year, a request I made as we were cycling around the region. It was so special and not as crowded as Rome. If you would be so kind to say a special prayer to my friend Bindu and Leanne battling stage 4 cancers, I’d really appreciate it. Pray as if it was me there. Thank you so much 🙏🏽🕊️
