I have skin on my left knee that is a different color because of my falls—on the same knee. Doing better since starting balance and coordination exercises which helped on the first leg of my Camino. Walking on cobblestones is an “art” form.
My big climb was the one right after Vigo... That was a bear. And then there was a climb on the Spiritual Variant . I was just thankful that I went in October and not the summer because that would have been miserable if it was hot. And I had a walking buddy that day so we were cheering each other on 😄
I also took pictures of some of the uneven surfaces... But I guess we can't drop pictures here... heck, just walking on the cobblestones is far more of a workout than we get in the states. 😄
If anyone is looking for more training ideas, try walking on Portugal’s cobblestone sidewalks—many of which are in a state of hazardous disrepair 🤨
Yes — In Europe, you don’t have to go very far to find uneven terrain!

One of the things they don’t exactly advertise in those “best things about living in Europe” posts and videos 😂

What a gift to have a walking buddy on those most challenging days!
Thanks for the shout out!

And what about those climbs to see the view from the church towers?! 😂
